What Should You Bring for Camping in Zakopane?

If you’re not going to Zakopane in a camper, start by organizing comfortable and warm accommodation. You will need

  • A tent
  • A sleeping bag (you can choose between a warmer and lighter down sleeping bag or a cheaper synthetic one)
  • A carrimat/self inflatable mat/hiking mattress – any of these will insulate you from the cold and hard ground

An alternative to sleeping in a tent is a lightweight and collapsible field bed. This suggestion is suitable for those who go camping by car and plan to spend more time in one place. For such a trip, you can take a large tent that will easily accommodate the bed. This solution allows even those with mobility issues to enjoy the charms of camping.

Once you have decided on your sleeping arrangements, gather your personal belongings. For camping in Zakopane, a good choice would be a microfiber towel, which folds into a small size and dries quickly. In addition to basic toiletries, remember to pack sunscreen. Mosquito and tick repellent will also come in handy.

It’s a good idea to bring a basic travel first aid kit on a camping trip. It won’t take up much space in your pack and will allow you to administer first aid in case of a minor injury.

Cooking on a Camping Trip

Start building your gear with a camping stove. This practical equipment will give you freedom and self-sufficiency. By far the most popular among Polish tourists is the tourist gas stove. Its advantages are compact size, low weight and easy installation. You can easily buy a suitable gas cartridge in any outdoor shop.

Lighting

A camping lamp will prolong your camping day in Zakopane, allowing you to prepare a meal even after dark. A camping lamp is also an excellent companion for those who enjoy long night chats. Camping lamps usually come with hooks and brackets that allow you to hang the lamp in a tent or on a branch. Some models also have retractable legs.
