From my research, the most recommended place to stay in Zakopane is Camping pod Krokwią. It’s located in the southern part of this winter city, bordering the Tatra National Park. According to their official website, there’s an ice rink nearby, and the campsite owners organize ski competitions.
The „Pod Krokwią” campsite is located right next to the most impressive ski jumps in Europe.

Camping Harenda is a private complex located on a 1.4 hectare area. Here you’ll find peace and quiet and a unique view of the Tatra Mountains. You can relax on the campsite, in guest rooms or in comfortable 2, 3, 4-person cottages built in regional style. There are swings for children, a grill place and a parking lot in front of the main building. The area is fenced and surrounded by many trees and shrubs.

The campground is fenced and partially surrounded by trees, which provides shade on hot days.

What Should You Bring for Camping in Zakopane?
If you’re not going to Zakopane in a camper, start by organizing comfortable and warm accommodation. You will need
- A tent
- A sleeping bag (you can choose between a warmer and lighter down sleeping bag or a cheaper synthetic one)
- A carrimat/self inflatable mat/hiking mattress – any of these will insulate you from the cold and hard ground

For such a trip, you can take a large tent that will easily accommodate the bed. This solution allows even those with mobility issues to enjoy the charms of camping.

For camping in Zakopane, a good choice would be a microfiber towel, which folds into a small size and dries quickly. In addition to basic toiletries, remember to pack sunscreen.
